Signing in, accounts and the studio switcher

Logging in, resetting a password, your own account settings, and working across two studios.

Everything about accounts in Dojo Tiger is deliberately boring: one login per person, no separate staff portal, and the same sign-in screen whether you own the studio, teach at it, or have a child enrolled. What you see after you sign in is decided by the roles you hold.

Signing in

Go to /login. Two ways in:

  • Email and password — the ordinary route.
  • Continue with Google — if the account was created with Google, or you have linked it.

After signing in you land on the dashboard for your role. An owner or admin gets the studio dashboard, an instructor gets their own, a parent gets the family view.

If you have forgotten your password

Forgot password? on the sign-in screen. Enter your email and the app sends a reset link.

The confirmation deliberately says "If an account exists with that email, we sent a password reset link" whether or not the address is real — so nobody can use the form to find out who has an account. If nothing arrives, check the spelling of the address and your spam folder before assuming the account is missing.

Staff cannot reset a password for you

There is no "reset this person's password" button on the Team screen. An admin can create an account with a temporary password, but once someone has set their own, only the email reset link can change it. That is on purpose.

First login on a staff account somebody made for you

If an admin created your account, you were given a temporary password. The first time you sign in with it, you are taken straight to a set-password screen and cannot reach any other page until you have set your own.

You do not need to tell anyone what you set it to, and the person who created the account cannot see it.

Your account settings

The Account link at the bottom of the sidebar opens your own profile. It has nothing studio-specific on it — it is about you, not about the business.

CardWhat it holds
PhotoYour profile picture, used on the roster and the team list.
Profile InformationEmail (read-only), first and last name, phone.
AddressYour postal address.
Change PasswordSet a new password, twice, while signed in.
Connected AccountsWhich sign-in providers your account uses — email, Google, or both.

Your email address is shown but not editable here. Changing it is a support request rather than a setting, because it is the identity every studio membership and every guardian record points at.

Working across two studios

One account can belong to more than one studio, with different roles in each — an instructor at one and an owner at another is a real and supported case.

When you belong to more than one, the studio name at the very top of the sidebar becomes a switcher: click it and you get the list, each entry showing your roles there, with a tick against the one you are currently in. Picking a different studio reloads the app in that studio's context.

If you belong to exactly one studio, the name is plain text and there is nothing to click. That is not a missing feature.

The switcher decides what every screen is about

Students, payments, settings and reports all show the current studio only. If a student you know exists seems to have vanished, check the switcher before anything else — you are almost certainly looking at the other studio.

Signing out

Sign Out at the bottom of the sidebar, under Account. On a shared front-desk machine this matters more than usual: the person signed in is the person whose name gets recorded against a charge, a refund or a promotion.

The one place you do not need an account

This manual. /docs is public and does not ask you to sign in — you can open it on your phone halfway through connecting Stripe, or send a link to a member of staff who has not been added yet.
